The ruins of Dunnotar Castle are one the more dramatic castle scenes you'll see as you traverse through the Scottish Countryside. Perched high atop dramatic cliffs and surrounded on three sides by the North Sea, it's hard to fathom how this seemingly impenetrable fortress now sits in ruins. As the cool breeze blows off the ocean, visitors are provided with some spectacular views of the cliffs. Pair that with a sunrise, sunset or historical tour and you're locked in for a few hours you'll never forget.
